Students who are in NJROTC are NOT in the Navy and are NOT obligated to join the military. Uniforms are provided at no cost, from the Navy.

NJROTC is a student led program, with teachers who are fully certificated, retired officers and senior enlisted personnel.

NJROTC replaces PE: students learn health and fitness skills as well as team work.

Lakewood NJROTC is a nationally recognized, award winning unit with championship teams in precision marching, academics, computer systems, marksmanship, and athletics.

NJROTC Activities include: competitive teams, parades, field trips, community service, formal military balls and dinners, football games, harbor cruises to LA, trips to Navy and Marine Corps bases in San Diego, summer leadership, and sailing programs.
